When Jord watches approached me a few weeks ago to work with them on another campaign, I jumped at the chance, especially since this one was all about saluting my love! As many of you know Ry is in the military. In a sense, time in the military is so meaningful… there is ‘time’ spent serving your country and during that ‘time’, there is ‘time’ spent away from your loved ones. Time is of the essence in the military so saluting our loved ones this Valentine’s day seems like the perfect way to honor their time given.
This year we experienced our first deployment as a military family. It almost seems silly to say ‘deployment’ because it was such a short time and it was totally optional and he was not being sent to a war torn country or being placed on the front lines… Ry had the opportunity to travel across the globe with his peers to help people in need for a month. It was so tough having him gone, even for just a short time. I have no idea how families endure 6 month and longer deployments. Where he was, the internet was tough so we didn’t really have the chance to FaceTime or see each other and he wasn’t able to call often because the phones on the ship had awful connections. The lack of ability to communicate really took a toll.
Having him gone for the month with no communication really made me aware of the time and how much we take for granted. It definitely reignited a spark in our marriage and made us both appreciate our time together as a married couple and as a family so much more! This Valentine’s Day, Jord Wood Watches wants to salute love and honor all those serving our country, past and present by giving away $100.00 towards a wood watch to one lucky winner. Enter here to win and check out all their unique watches.
Shop Ryan’s watch here (Frankie series) and be sure to check out the engraving. The detail and work is absolutely stunning and something I know he will cherish for years to come. The engraved watch is the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day! I chose the Frankie Series in Koa and Ash for him because in general, he’s a pretty neutral guy. The wood tone is great to go with browns or blacks and the grey face really gives a nice pop. I loved the simple bigger round face that the mens watch has and I find myself stealing his for the day =)
