One of my goals this year is to push myself creatively and learn something new so I set an intention to shoot at least one roll of film every month! I love that there is no looking at what I’ve captured with film. I love that I can feel the emotion and relive the memory when I get my scans developed and I love that I have to just shoot what feels right without so many bells and whistles. It’s simple yet complex.
I wanted to share with y’all a few favorites from my January roll of film! I’m still playing around with what film stocks I like, this was shot on Fuji 400H Pro… and I’m also still learning my film camera so my consistency isn’t quite where it is with my digital camera! I seemed to have underexposed for a few images. We happened to be at the beach both times I brought out my film camera for this one roll but it was really neat to see the change within one roll… we headed out on New Years day, grabbed coffee and took the dog and the kids to the beach, it was a sunnier morning session. It was the perfect way to start 2018! And the second few images are from a session trade I did for the babes 3rd birthday… we stayed behind after and shot a few fun twirls to finish off my roll and as you can see, it was an overcast afternoon!
Everly has yet to meet a camera that she won’t twirl for =)
