5 TIPS FOR A CLEAN CAR

We have a few short roadtrips on the itinerary for this fall and the one thing that makes me dread roadtrips is knowing how messy the car is or is going to get. I’ve been doing my best to keep my car clean this summer but between our weekly beach trips, a dog and two toddlers, it’s been tough. I’ve started to do 5 things that have really helped me to keep the car clean and presentable, not just for roadtrips but even for every day use…

Tip 1 –  Keep the exterior shiny and clean –  I’m less likely to notice how dirty the interior is… it feels so good to walk up to a nice clean car after a sandy day at the beach or a long hike on the trails. I just gave this new product, Solutions Finish, a try on the black molding around my car and it has really restored the shine and new car look that I love!

Tip 2 –  Swiffer Dust Cloths – I keep a small ziploc bag of these in my center console, anytime I notice how dusty or sandy the dashboard is, I just give it a quick wipe down and tada, all better!

Tip 3 – Old grocery bags – It’s so easy to let trash pile up on the floor of the passenger seat and back seat… I stashed a few old grocery bags in the side pocket of the door and it has made cleaning when we get out of the car so much easier. I also use these for really messy or really sandy shoes and clothes!

Tip 4 – Trunk Organizer – Toddlers have a lot of crap… let’s be real. There’s the port-a-potty, the potty bag inserts, the 6 changes of clothes (3 for each), the extra pull-ups, stroller accessories, carriers, sunscreen, sand toys… and that’s just barely scratching the surface. Having a trunk organizer has been a life saver! I know where everything is when needed and it’s all easily accessible.

Tip 5 – A portable vacuum – I’m starting to get into the habit of vacuuming out carseats almost daily… Toddlers eat similar to monkeys on the loose in McDonalds. There is stuff EVERYWHERE! Like fries up in the front seat and chicken bits stuffed in cup holders… it’s disgusting. Using my handheld cordless vacuum makes this chore easy and effortless.

Okay so those are my 5 tips for keeping your car clean on the daily and for road trips! This post is sponsored by Solutions Finish… Y’all, after using this stuff on my car, I’m sold! Look at the before and after, it works so well! Head to their website or purchase from Amazon and restore your car to it’s “off the lot” appearance!
